Keep your spirits up through the Lockdown

While most of us have very little or no social interaction, at times it can get really frustrating.  To add to it, we now have to attend zoom meetings and look excited about them and actually work harder than before. And let’s not forget those who have kids, you have to add homeschooling to this as well! Everything can just become overwhelming at times.

So here at HouR Consulting, we just wanted to share a few ideas that have helped us and our team members get through this trying time, and we hope it can be helpful to you too!

Motivational and inspirational Videos at Ted Talks

Believe it or not, some Ted Talks are actually motivational and inspirational!

It’s really a great forum to check out talks on a lot of topics that may interest you. Ted Talks Website

If you have time for streaming videos, then we recommend – Some Good News

Check out the first eight episodes of Some Good News with John Krasinski, a show started during the coronavirus pandemic and now acquired by ViacomCBS.   You might remember John from “The Office”, the American version. Some Good news is focused on positivity during this time and definitely worth checking out. Link to SomeGoodNews

Meditation with HeadSpace

In the midst of this chaos and if you don’t mind meditation, then we highly recommend meditation with HeadSpace. As they guide you along with your meditation (they also offer mini sessions for kids), they can provide relief from daily stressors. They actually have a section – “Weathering the Storm” which includes content unlocked during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Available on ios and Android. Download HeadSpace

Have time to learn some new interesting facts? Check out- Stuff You Should Know podcast

Josh Clark and Chuck Bryant help you find those answers and you might even take their advice seriously. Some favourites include handwashing (how the Hygiene Hypothesis works), how monopoly works, more about wine fraud, the list is never-ending! Link to the Podcast

Don’t like traditional meditation? Colouring may be your thing!

The app Colorfy, lets you become a child again and reminds you how much fun it was to colour! It’s available online, digitally making it easier than before. This exercise can bring you calmness and most likely will be beneficial during this lockdown. Download Colorfy
